Chapter 13… Clean cars & funky flowers.
We had been planning this one for a while. Back in fall of 2021, I got an email from Josh, one of the owners, asking if I could liven up some of the cement platforms around his car wash. At the time I was touring the west coast but as soon as I got back and the weather warmed up we could do something awesome thigh the space. We set up a community workshop the following summer and invited anyone from town to come over and fill in some flowers.
about and hour in, we had a slight rain scare for about 15 minutes and thought we’d have to bag the rest of the day. Luckily the storm passed and after waiting for the surface to dry, we were back in business. The only other challenging part was painting the areas around the automatic car was. Every time a car drove through, a mist of water hit two of the mural sections. Once we realized what was happening, we shut down the car was for a few hours and it was smooth sailing from there.
The car wash was only a few blocks from my house so it was really fun to see a lot of my neighbors come through and help out!

Once I finished outlining everything, I hopped on a plane for our first ever international mural!
